야간 자율 학습(study hall sessions)

Corporal punishment has been banned at schools.

It has its pros and cons.

I am against physically punishing students.

Well, Classes finished at four or five.

No. We used to stay behind after school to study.

(아니, 수업 끝나고 학교 남아서 공부 더 했었어.)

What did you go home then?

(그럼 집에는 언제 가?)

Like ten'o clock at night.

(대략.. 밤 10시 쯤)

At 10? that's really late.

(10시? 그거 진짜 늦다.)

I know. We had those study hall sessions almost every day.

(맞아. 거의 매일 자율 학습 시간이 있었지..)

Did everyone stay behind?

No, some students left early to attend cram schools.

(아니, 몇몇 애들은 입시 학원 가려고 일찍 갔어.)
