또는 당선을 거의 따 놓은 선거 / 우승을 거의 따 놓은 게임 / 수상을 거의 따놓은 것과 다름 없는 시상식

A person or thing that is certain to succeed, especially someone who is certain to win a competition:he was a shoo-in for re-election.그 사람은 재당선이 확실시 된다.(He was certain to be re-elected.)

• Whereas Room #2 was filled with the shoo-ins, this room seemed to have been populated mostly with the long-shots.
• 2번 방은 당선(또는 우승이 확실한 사람들)로 가득한 반면 이 방은 대개 당선(또는 우승 가망이 없는 사람들)로 넘쳐난다. 

shoo-ins <===> long-shots (서로 반대말)

• They are shoo-ins for the public service category in any event.
• (그 사람들은 (그 프로그램들은) 공공 서비스 부분에서 수상이 확실시 된다. 
• (in any event는 어떻게 해석해야 할지.. 모르겠네)
• He had been considered a shoo-in for best new artist.
• (그는 최고 신인 예술가로 상을 타는 것이 확실시 된다고 여겨져 왔었다.)
